NATURALLY BRED, NATURALLY FED

Swan Bay Butchers are proud to be a family-owned and operated Australian business run by the Scarrabelotti family. The family settled in the Northern Rivers region of NSW in 1880, arriving from Italy on the ill-fated Marquis de Rays expedition. The Scarrabelotti family brought with them the natural, pasture-raised and fed technique of producing some of the country’s finest meat from their home region of Veneto, Italy.

Swan Bay, situated in the Northern Rivers region of NSW, is the original landing place of the Scarrabelotti family.

Swan Bay Butchers offer a premium selection of natural veal, young beef and beef products for supply into export and domestic retail markets. The Swan Bay Butchers range of products are full-flavoured with no added hormones. All of our livestock is naturally bred, naturally fed and has been sourced from proud Australian farmers, who are aligned with our family history of providing customers with some of the country’s finest meat. Our proud Aussie farmers have a commitment to sustainable farming and ethical practices, ensuring that their stock is raised naturally without any hormones to obtain growth.

SUSTAINABILITY & THE ENVIRONMENT

Swan Bay Butchers products are produced in our modern processing facilities which operate to the highest standards of food safety and environmental sustainability. We use a protective plastic film on our Swan Bay Butchers products to ensure the food safety of our product for the duration of its intended shelf-life.

We also use packaging to prevent spoilage and food waste. Which according to the UN is a greater problem than packaging. However, we are currently working with our suppliers, so that in time we can transition to alternative packaging material that can perform the meat shelf-life requirements we are asking of our films.
The packaging used to supply this product to you is the only packaging this product has been packed in. Many other retailers have re-packed their products two or three times, using two or three lots of packaging, before coming to you as the consumer.

Our skin tray packaging provides an extended shelf life while also enhancing the eating quality of the product. This type of packaging is robust – it enables the customer to freeze the product in the pack, after ageing for storage to be consumed at a later date.
